KIRKUS REVIEW

The outlandish operations of a con man, gone west, when jewel lifting in the east makes New York unseasonably hot and determines his intentions to reform. The shine of Duval's new ""goodness"" is rubbed off on Moose Creek where he settles old feuds, sets straight some young hellers, and breaks down the town's doll-eyed tease who had driven strong men to distraction for too long. Humor lends a definite dash to all of this.
