The Remarkable Harry is a family project with illustrations by the Hunter children and an introduction by Mrs. Hunter. We certainly admire the esprit de corps as well as the clever tongue twisting rhythmic verse, but we feel the illustrations simply do not carry the text or convey its humor. Reminiscent in several ways of the Icarus-Dacdalus legend of Greek mythology, Harry's long long mustache, waxed instead of trimmed by the barber, becomes wings one blustery day carrying the amazed but exultant Harry far above the treetops closer and closer to the sun. As the heat begins melting the wax our hero is not plunged to his death Icarus fashion, but is ""parachuted"" to earth by a flock of birds. We would like to see this with appropriate pictures.
