The renowned cheese tasting mouse, who helps make M. Duval's product le meilleur fromage du monde, takes his family from Paris to Rome when he's called in to consult for Signor Vivaldi, whose cheese business is being sabotaged by his competitors, the villainous Borgia brothers. With the cooperation of the Queen of the Roman cats, a native Parisian (""'Babette?' 'Non, non --Nanette!' ""), and the active assistance of all the mice of Rome, the flamboyant Anatole not only foils the Borgias but manages as well to save his new friend the carousel man from bankruptcy by discovering a marble Bernini horse in his stable -- then ends the visit by performing the Anatole Concerto with the Roman Mouse Sinfonia and accepting with characteristic flourish his farewell gift of a beautifully molded Mozarella statue of himself, ""IL MAESTRO MAGNIFICO!
