PAUL REVERE: Patriot on Horseback

By

Publisher: Lippincott

Paul Revere was so much a part of his times and his locale that, inevitably, any good biographical material about Paul Revere becomes immediately a good picture of Boston, of the steps leading up to the outbreak of hostilities, of the Sons of Liberty, the Boston Messacre, the famous Tea Party. Against this setting, the character and the many-sided abilities of Paul Revere are firmly outlined. His part in the rebel activities, the Committee of Correspondence, the aggressive aid to the cause of freedom, the command of Castle Island all have their place. The story goes on in less detail through his later years, with Revere still in the forefront of his country's service and progress. Excellent. Thoroughly good reading.
