A story on two time levels, as Judy, who has learned from her grandfather a good deal of his boyhood on a land donation claim many years before, is precipitated into that past in a period of unconsciousness resulting from an accident as her boat goes over the rapids. In lively interplay between this child of today and her great grandparents, Judy experiences a year of country living with plenty of agrarian background. The old people and their four children think she is sunstruck or mad, but Judy has a happy visit and lots of childlike adventures. An original way of telling a story, convincingly done.
