A HANDBOOK OF HUMAN RELATIONS by Everett R. Clinchy

A HANDBOOK OF HUMAN RELATIONS

By

Pub Date: Nov. 4th, 1949
Publisher: Farrar, Straus

The author of Intergroup Relations Centers (see P. 318) here supplies the lack felt in that book- a practical handbook which brings his abstractions of the first book down to concrete procedure. The text is designed to provide an outline clarifying the facts of prejudice for the average American, tracing the history of prejudice here, and the total overall effects (bad for business, for politics, for religion, for community life). The growth of hate organizations is not offset by the growth of centers on intergroup relations. The scientific principles underlying the social condition, must be understood, and there must be faith in the democratic principle. The elementary facts are here: the principles and techniques of learning and teamwork; the programs, first in the schools, then in industry; and reading suggestions on each phase of the problems comprise the main section of the text.
