FREE MEN OF AMERICA: An Augury for the Post War Future

A rhetorical survey of the ideals of Panamericanism, by Mexico's Minister of Foreign Affairs, comparable to the Quintanilla A Latin American Speaks (see page 632/12/15/42). Here one notes the parallels of South and North America's attitudes towards slavery, the feelings about the Munroe Doctrine, the differences of race and culture, the growth of freedom versus despotism, the advancement of brotherhood from the early conferences to present-day motivation in the direction of moral and material union of the Americas, and the inescapability of the ""indissoluble mingling of our destinies"" from the point of view of our neighbor to the South. A perceptive student of the hemisphere history, he makes his points with care and some scholarly inquiry. This is an imperative case for future collaboration practical as well as emotional in handling.
