EUROPE AND THE GERMAN QUESTION

Here is a Prussian who was exiled from Germany for the courage of his utterances in criticism of the path his country was taking before the last war. From his observation post he has viewed the march of tyranny. He does not fool himself. He is convinced that 95% of the Germans in Germany are pro-Hitler, that blockade cannot defeat Germany, that America is next on Hitler's program. He quotes line and verse to prove his point. He warns us that a war of attack and that only can defeat Germany now; that Germany was not ready at Munich and the flood could have been stopped, but now it is too late to take a defensive stand. Germany must be punished; she must serve her sentence of service for regeneration before Europe can establish a union. Decentralization and policing of Germany defeated; a Southeastern Federation, a recognition of the dominance of the best, and a militant Christianity -- these are the answers.
