INDIAN FIGHTING ARMY

He writes well, does Fairlax Downey, and this biography of the Indian fighting my in the West, from 19 to 1890 reads well. A spirited, virile record of incessant fars, and a tribute to the spirit in an army that, right or wrong in the principles of the orders from Washington, did a good job according to their lights. He says st it is time the army got recognition due it, and accuses the majority of writers as viewing the Indians with sentimental eyes. Custer, Sheridan, Crook, Miles, Sherman-frontier forts -- army wives, all come in for their share.
