Good Baldwin, well girdled and well garnished, but not a straight novel. Six novelettes representing a pretty husky cross-section of life at a large New York hospital, which breeds romance faster than guinea pigs. There's a topflight diagnostician who thinks he's immunized to love; a debutante who goes in for clinical work; a dietician who comes up against tough competition; a nurse who finally finds that her emotions are not atrophied; an interne who comes into contact with Nazi sabotage; a special nurse who finds her beauty a liability rather than an asset.
