READ REVIEW

This new series is designed to serve, at popular price, as ""bridging books"" to keep boys and girls reading, to wean them from the comics, to supply straight entertainment and relaxation in action stories with contemporary backgrounds. I have seen only one reviewed below- but this would indicate that pace of plot is given precedence over style. One could wish it might be possible to set a higher standard of writing, while keeping the story value. In any case, I'm wholly sympathetic with the theory that the habit of reading is vital, particularly at this age level- junior high and high school.
