JUDY AND THE GOLDEN HORSE

Kentucky small farm life with a smattering of horse talk and horse shows as Judy and her little friends enjoy the pleasant routines of a small school, berry picking, cookie baking, and a snippy little enmity between a farm owner aristocrat's daughter and Judy, child of a respected tenant farmer. Judy wins the blue ribbon and Daddy buys his farm. Adventures rather thin for this age level -- characterization superficial -- a story that doesn't quite come off.
