DING by Feenie Ziner

In a slap-happy mixture of careless verse and bland prose, the author narrates the if-you-do-this- I'll-do-that tale of a mother looking for her little boy. She asks a bird (who is the only creature not drawn in geometric, unimaginative form) to help. He says he will if she asks the wheat for some grain... and, so she goes, on and on, asking the wheat, the wind, a cloud and a tree. She finds her child and they go walking down a hill...so ends a brief, uninspired story.
