THE GIANT

The concluding volume in the trilogy, World's Wanderer this takes Thurs Wrald out of the circumscribing confines of the Big City to his journey's end in Siouxland where he settles down to recover from a nervous lapse. A stop at Zion nets a glimpse of , whom he had loved, but she is now married and out of reach. But Thurs finds her counterpart, Eva, in the library of the Twin Cities and decides that he has found his true mate at last. Their marriage is only marred by Eva's refusal to give up her job, succumb completely to the ""nesting instinct"" of a true woman. Thurs, who still longs for a child, learns to control his behemoth vitality; he is attracted to his associate's , while Eva, for a time, quickens to a more mercurial male; but at the close Eva becomes pregnant and Thurs finds peace, although he does not live to see his twin heirs . Again a close-up of the giant primitive in all his ""stallion strength"", this is uncontrolled by taste and is uncomfortably uncouth as a primer of sexual impulse and experience. Serve with saltpeter.
