TWO FEET FROM HEAVEN by Fercival Christopher Wren

TWO FEET FROM HEAVEN

By

Publisher: Macrae Smith

A new departure for P.C. Wren in a story of a man haunted by a crime he has committed and from whose consequences a woman has shielded him. There are three stories converging to make one:- that of the woman as she helps the man escape; that of a painter who has used the woman as a model; that of a vicar in an English village. The story of the crime is done by flashbacks, in confession to the matron of a nursing home, when the onus of guilt brings a mental breakdown, and after he is cured and released, chance throws into his path once more, the woman who -- years before -- had shielded him. Portrait of an escapist, with the story somewhat marred by overstraining coincidence.
