KIRKUS REVIEW

A long quasi-fable with an obvious point: porcupine quills can be deadly . Besides the downfall of Lion, the brief reign of Tiger and the timely thrust of Porcupine, there is some tangential diversion featuring the other animals (in and out of character)--none of which matters much. Nor do the illustrations, confusingly composed and verging on burlesque.
