MARY BAKER EDDY: In a New Light

It is difficult to ascertain what new light is thrown upon the personality d work of the founder of the Christian Science Church by this book. The author is scientist, and, while not a member of the Christian Science Church, is certainly a votee and admirer of Mrs. Eddy and her philosophy. The book traces the development this unusual woman from her girlhood through the assumption of leadership in the Christian Science movement. The extent of the author's admiration of Mrs. Eddy may seen in the parallel he draws between her life and teaching and that of the Christ, plain implication being that the two were equally inspired. Christian Scientists like this book. Others will scarcely find it as 'objective' as the publishers aim.
