KIRKUS REVIEW

Breezy pace throughout in another story of the pugnacious lawyer, John Webb (Send Another Coffin). He plays the sleuthing game with his own rules, in unravelling the killing of a would-be politico and the disappearance of his secretary-mistress. Clashes with the local racketeer, political machine and police force keep Webb pretty busy, as does a young new wife. But he finally prevents the police from arresting the wrong person.
