THE STRANGERS IN 7-A

This is one of those obliterating, grubby stories which takes a certain fortitude -- say a stomach paved with Gelusil -- about a Desperate Hours takeover of apartment 7-A in a New York City apartment house after its super, Cal, has sacked in there with Claudine, a centerfold girl with tremendous allure and bodycontact expertise. She also takes the keys which enable her little group, Vern and Bull and Bongo, as bad as they sound, to move in, bomb a nearby bank, plan further explosions and send Iris, Cal's wife, scuttling to her basement apartment under the bed. Mr. Farrington is a TV-radio scripter and he gets additional mileage here out of the obscenities which crowd the up-yours dialogue. Just one more book like this and New York won't even be a nice place to visit.
