KIRKUS REVIEW

Tie this is with the reighton Peet book, Defending America (page 380), published by Harper, and giving an excellent general background on all our forces; and with Blakesies's Fighting Ships of the U. S. A. (page 477), published by Random House, and rather isnamed, since it is a coverage of the organization of our Navy, rather than a book about ships alone. The three together will give any youngster approaching the the answers to all the questions he is likely to ask at the start of his investigations into the navy. This is specifically and exactly a picture book with descriptive test defining and illustrating the types of fighting ships, their and fighting equipment.
