THE COCOA DANCER

A real story with an unusual background -- the Island of Dominica -- in a lively story of two native children, Ebby and Dodo, who work together to satisfy Ebby's ambition to become a cocoa dancer. Excellent reading aloud material. We wish the illustrations which are too much in the old blackface minstrel tradition, had been more native in feel. They make effective display, but may offend some readers who would like the simplicity and vitality of the story.
