KIRKUS REVIEW

The original Cook It In A Casserols was published during the war, and this has been thoroughly adjusted and amplified for the present day which prefers the flexibility this type of cookery permits. Along with the individual recipes, there are suggested menus for branches, lunches, suppers and dinners, and even barbecues. There's not quite the elegance here of the Tracy's Casserole Cookery but the repertoire is wider, not above easier techniques (frozen foods, etc.) and alert to cost considerations (there's a special section on inexpensive meals). Its usefulness therefore for everyday cooking rather than occasional entertaining is greater.
