This is a standard party book, with the usual tips on decorations for holiday parties -- New Year's, Abraham Lincoln's, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's, and other get-togethers. Menus proposed are reasonable in preparation and cost. So are the decorations. But there's not the zing, the originality, which make a memorable party. As an aid to the just trying her hostess-wings, it may prove of help.
