KIRKUS REVIEW

This is less successful than the others in a free retelling of the story of Mark, carrying through from his boyhood association with Jesus, the death and resurrection, the founding of the early church, the conversion of Paul, the beginnings of the Christian missions, and the starting of the writing of the gospel story. Liberties are taken with omissions, with interpretation of events, which are perhaps justified in presenting the stories for small children.
