THE DACHSHUNDS OF MAMA ISLAND

On her family's Alaskan isle, Jeanne-Marie's only companions are nine lively dogs. The young girl is content with the country life, but is plagued by a guilt complex when she looks at Maidchen, the puppy she caused to be lame. Therefore she favors the slow-moving pup over the others, and not until another shows that she needs care, does Jeanne realize she must love all the dogs. A slight story with a serene atmosphere which will be appreciated more by the younger members of this age group.
