KIRKUS REVIEW

The Erie-Wabash canal days form the setting for a story of a boy whose mother was dead and whose father had disappeared, of his adventures as towpath boy for a canal boat captain. There is good content material, though the style is somewhat amateurish and the story fairly obvious.
