The British hospital of St. Justin's is vulnerable to more than one kind of when scurrilous anonymous letters to many members of the staff precede the post-operative death of its disliked administrator. The police prove their diagnostic skills and the plenitude of situations provides a safety in numbers for the author and a pleasing diffusion of interest for the reader.
