THE WILDEST OF THE WEST

A return to the ""brave, new, Western world"" of the 1880's which revives some of the less respectable pursuits and professions which flourished in Denver at that time. After an inventory of the saloons and sporting houses, madames and cribs on Holladay Street, this concentrates on some of the more conspicuous figures; Mme. Vestal, the gambling queen who had once been a confederate spy; Mattie Silks, a scarlet sister; the bonanza king Tabor who lost his fortune and whose beautiful Baby Doe died as a squatter in a played-out mine; the Irish sportsman Gore and the multimillion dollar racketeer Blonger; etc. etc. The not so good old times in a posthumous presentation which is not quite as colorful as it is intended to be.
