THE GAP OF BRIGHTNESS

Lyrics, unmistakably Irish in feeling and language, and revealing a varied talent. The poems range from the vigorous ballad to the tenuous lullaby, but in each genre there is inventive fancy, marked individuality of thought and expression. Catalogue labels Higgins as ""latest of Yeats' school of younger men"". A few of the poems are in the Yeats' manner, soft, mystical, but on the whole they are more robust.
