A lovely looking book, but somewhat fragile in its board and paper covers. The illustrations are done in childlike technique and lovely soft colors, printed on a yellowish paper. There is some degree of sameness about the artist's work, but it has a delightful quality, for children who don't want realism. This is the story of a little girl who ""adopted"" a succession of animals -- and they all lived together in a little house. Fantastic tale, but not intended to be anything else.
