A sequel to these two cat-o-philes' delightfully meticulous and revealing The Proud Cat (1951; p. 482) describes the adventures of Siamese Flutters, after she gets out of the Burns' apartment and is temporarily lost. A careful and quietly humorous narrative follows Flutters' trials with dogs, other cats, feelings about humans, traffic, takes her to her sanctuary in the apartment of a poor boy Tim,- and in loving detail increases cat-human understanding. For a reward after Tim's father sees the newspaper ad about Flutters. Patty and Howdy take Tim to their aunt's where he is given one of the lovably dignified Diana's kittens.
