THE BLACK WINDS BLOW by Frances Bainbridge Colby

THE BLACK WINDS BLOW

By

Publisher: Harrison Hilton

A likable first novel, by the daughter of Natalie Sedgwick Colby. A young Irish girl marries a Bostonian, and is thrust into a ""silver cord"" situation, plus the traditions of musty, hypocritical Beacon Hill. It is a thoroughly convincing story, not as intellectualized nor as finished a piece of satire as Marquand's novels, but an intelligent and rendable tale. Recommended for sales and rentals.
