Geologic time cast the roles for the various regions of the United States, and the importance of these roles in controlling the history of our country makes an interesting, if controversial, approach to its destiny. The eras, areas of produce, mismanagement of resources, human migrations and how conditioned, geographic boundaries, adjustment to physical laws and livelihood, prairies and forests, the meaning of our ""too much too soon"" productivity that is leading to the efficient control. The possibilities of chemistry plus agriculture, speeded up by today's challenge; the impulse of expansion in the Pacific checked by attitudes towards China. There are arbitrary pronouncements here, but an interesting picture of one phase of the future.
