As for the story, there was something of the quality of The Cat That Went to Heaven to me as I read -- though I can't quite analyze the whys and wherefores after finishing it. Perhaps because Mr. Tidy Paws was not quite of this world -- a changeling cat, who brought good luck to his owners when it was needed.
