KIRKUS REVIEW

The Abbotts, Pat and Jean, claimed as kin to prevent the murder of wealthy, Mrs. Stryker, suspected of being a mental case. Pat finds three determined women housed in Black Cypress, a readymade killer for him, and a thorough doublecross from all members of the family. The Strykers' Hawaiian background and their past history of other deaths in the family, the conflicts between the women over the Strykers' son, keep Pat uncovering definite motives and means. Two killings and the breakup of the united family front give Pat his solution and Jean her fill of crime plus romance. Skilled and sometimes scary.
