KIRKUS REVIEW

Dee Galbraith, the recent second wife of David and stepmother of Miranda- and newly arrived in Byfield Center (the home of his first wife) engages in some sociological research on her new habitat, projects the suspicion of murder on the suicide of a Miss Tripp, and with further prying and prodding- endangers Miranda's life as well as her own. Stepping on the toes of a socially untouchable family, Dee secures the proof of a silenced scandal which will destroy the prestige of the town but she settles for clearing up the current crime only.... Chatty.
