JAY BAIN, JUNIOR BOY

Pub Date: Oct. 7th, 1963
Publisher: Abingdon

A ten-year-old's view of Sunday school"" is handled in much the same way as this author's earlier books, Betty Ann, Beginner and Kathy Ann, Kindergartner. Through Jay Bain, a very natural youngster, and in the vernacular of his peer group, a good deal of Christianity- Biblical and practical- is taught. This running account of a fifth grade year, week by week, and under a new teacher with a good many ideas and projects, gets across many lessons from the Bible, the significance of the holidays, as well as some of the larger facts to be faced- racial prejudice, death, etc. A small boy, small town life chronology which has a Sunday School supplementary reading designation.
