CHRISTMAS IS SHAPED LIKE STARS

A simple, song-like poem, having to do with Christmas eve and Christmas day on a farm (probably in Vermont). Grandpa, Grandma, four sons, three daughter-in-laws, grand-children, collie dog, cat, cattle- they're all here. Except for the animals, they manage to act saccharine, good, and thoroughly unbelievable. The sons, straight and tall, have an annoying habit of standing with their backs against walls...
