Not a particularly important book, but it is a new setting, a new problem, dramatized in the romance of the proponents of the conflict. It is a story of the struggle between the fruit growers of Arizona, who have rescued rock and desert from their fate and brought fertility, and the goat men, who are willing to risk reversion to desert, to get pasturage for their herds. A good background picture of the southwest, but as a love story it seems pretty thin.
