THE LONELIEST JOURNEY

This is the story of the war-time spiritual pilgrimage of an English woman. Having begun with a formal and conventional relationship to the church, the writer found that her yearnings for a vital religious experience were unsatisfied. After a period of rebellion against the pious platitudes and sanctimonious self-righteousness that she found in the Church, she found a new interest in religion and was led to a thorough-going commitment to Christ through the instrumentality of a non-conformist minister from the slums of Liverpool. It is a simple, straight-forward account of a spiritual experience which transformed a wistful seeker into a convinced and radiant Christian personality. It should be helpful to all other seekers for a deeper religious experience. Not, perhaps, as intellectual in its appeal as Barbara Morgan's Man's Restless Search (Harper- see report P. 54), but possibly of more emotional appeal for the average seeker.
