OUR WONDERFUL WORLD by Frances Jenkins Olcott

OUR WONDERFUL WORLD

By

Pub Date: Sept. 20th, 1935
Publisher: Little, Brown

An anthology of nature lore, taken from standard works of famous writers on all phases of nature -- Agassiz, Fobre, Beebe and many others. The motive -- a divine force back of all nature -- is not made too apparent, though at times it is rather forced to the fore. But, through bits of descriptive writing, longer passages of scientific fact, stories and anecdotes and occasional verse, the vast world of nature is opened up:- the physical world, the mineral, animal, vegetable world, below the surface of the sea, under the crust of the earth, in woods and fields and stream, and above the earth's surface. Good reference material, and should be valuable for schools and libraries.
