THE ROAD TO ANYWHERE

By

Publisher: Funk & Wagnalls

With the currently justifiable premise that the secretarial wedge is the one which will open up future positions of greater importance, the author provides a straight guide based on letters and interviews with women of achievement. The fields and types of work secretarial positions can lead to -- office executive work -- high finance -- advertising -- publicity -- publishing -- newspaper and magazine -- radio. There are noticeable gaps -- perhaps a too great generality and optimism -- and her cases in point are not the average. But it does give the working-girl, or girl about to work, a realization of the qualifications, salaries, potentialities of various types of jobs and a general plan of action to get to the top. This lacks the humor and charm of Munro Leaf's Listen Little Girl and is, more or less, a specialized vocational item.
