Not this time the glamor of New Orleans nor Washington, but the sturdy beauties of New England for another many-romanced, strongly emotionalized story of today. The three Farnham children provide all the elements of love and drama:- Judith, who has always planned to marry Dexter, childhood friend and neighbor, but who puts it off to join up as an Aray nurse; Jenness, frivolous, flighty, who goes to Washington and becomes involved in an Isolationist racket, is tried, sentenced and dies by her own hand; Jerome, in the Army, who makes a war marriage, and before going overseas sends his pretty, gentle wife back to his parents to have their child. Plenty of action -- turnabout -- and shifting of partners -- and a bit about enemy agents. Tripe-but readable, and good ""pop"".
