All the evidence and no motives implicate quiet, academic Kimball Fitzgerald in the murder of a piano salesman in a Toronto hotel room. This hooks up with a previous unidentified lady. in a lake, another who has vanished, and finally a trizoid young woman who had been institutionalized and declared dead but now proves to be dangerously alive.... Dreadfully complicated, but the handling is soft and smooth, like lanolin. All right, for the ladies.
