Easy, yes. Kids can read the recipes and follow them on their own. But if you require anything more than that from a beginning cookbook, you won't find it here. Most of Zweifel's recipes are sweet snacks with no redeeming gastronomical value (balls made from crushed vanilla wafers, orange juice, honey, and sugar); many are yuccky (apples spread with sweet pickles, pimento cheese spread, and deviled ham) or dumb (why add canned Chinese noodles to fruit yogurt?); some (cocoa from a mix; or pineapple chunks, banana slices, and strawberries speared together on a toothpick) are just too simple to rate a recipe; and a few (eggnog, cinnamon toast) too standard to rate recycling.
