The Bonnamy and Shane team (see A Rope of Sand and Dead Reckoning) are doing secret work in Washington and living in a private home in Alexandria. There they are precipitated into as pretty a series of violent and accidental death, as any closely knit -- and mutually suspicious a community could produce.
