EXCURSION by Francis Pollini

Email this review

Floating. Hovering. Rising. REELING. Present participles dangling. One word, two words. Half a sentence. Memories, phallic phantasies, images--broken. Janet's broken. Once a prima ballerina, pirouetting with ""tender, lovely pas de deux,"" spinning, swirling, swooning. Now running, away, away. Excursion 's an escape, to Europe, with Jerry, away from Fred, with others, away from Carl, Carl's dead, dead inside her, to France, to Spain, to Italy, and finally to Capri. And peace-- except he makes her remember, remember, remember...Ah yes, turning, turning, pages turning, dissolving, receding, fading, quickly, quickly.
