BIG LEAGUE ROOKIE

Luke Coss, who worked in the coal mines after high school, comes to the big leagues as a rookie short-stop for the Buffs. Luke fights his way through emotional problems which develop from the hazing of a wise-cracking pitcher. Fortified with the advice of a kindly veteran baseball player and by his own self-sufficiency, Luke proves a success on the field, smooths out the antagonisms he had to face and wins a girl. This may not have enough diamond action for the rabid fan, but it is an entertaining yarn with plenty of baseball chatter.
