MINOU

Ne searches the shops, book stalls, parks and river banks of Paris for her lost cat Minou without luck, until an old man tells her that Minou boarded a barge which departed hours before. An unhappy note for an ending? Perhaps, though Nenette knows that her Minou will return to Paris. ""Everyone does!"" This might seem a sophisticated concept for toddlers unfamiliar with the city of cities, but oddly enough Francoise seems able to compensate amply for any haziness of text by beguiling pen and brush illustrations in color with which the small fry seem to make complete identification.
