LET NO WAVE ENGULF US

The author is senior partner of the investment banking house of Lazard Frares, and in straightforward, non technical manner presents a treatise on the present threat to democracy, -- the maladjustment in our economic system, the tendency of the have--note toward communistic sharing, the haves toward fascism. Assured that a new order (started with bludgeons by the New Deal, he claims) is here to stay, that the pendulum will not awing back to the old way, this is a plea that we work together down the middle road to solve the paradox of want in the midst of plenty, and a suggestion that we establish a Supreme Economic Council to devise measures to cushion the shock of post war transition and help us retain free enterprise within our framework. A logical presentation, clearly evolved and expressed.
